Fen House Dental Practice

If you’re one of the 29% of Brits who are edentulous (missing many teeth), you may benefit greatly from the All-On-4 dental implant concept.

Sometimes referred to as “All-On-6”, “Same-Day Teeth”, or “Teeth-In-A-Day”, the treatment allows patients to have a fully -functioning set of teeth from day one, using a concept known as full-arch reconstruction.

All-On-4 is so-called because an entire arch of lifelike restoration teeth is held in place by just 4-6 dental implants. Many edentulous patients have resigned themselves to a lifetime of conventional dentures. Consequently, full-arch rehabilitation gives people hope who may have otherwise been told there wasn’t any.

Are you a long-term denture wearer who has been told that removable dentures are your only option? Contact the Fen House Dental team and talk to us about All-On-4 dental implant solutions.

The problem with conventional dentures

Around 90% of all edentulous cases wear full dentures, and while modern appliances do a good job of replacing teeth from an aesthetic standpoint, they don’t do so without issue.

Because dentures rely on either suction or soft-tissue support to hold them in place, they’re prone to movement. When dentures move, they can cause rubbing and sores inside the cheek.

Additionally, because dentures sit atop the jaw bone, they don’t halt ongoing bone loss associated with teeth loss. As such, every time the jaw shrinks, dentures can quickly become ill-fitting.

Finally, many long-term denture wearers need to adopt dietary restrictions to account for a weaker bite, often depriving them of their favourite foods.

Thankfully, it doesn’t have to be this way. Dr Shahin, Dr Pirvu and their team can treat patients using the All-On-4 fixed-arch concept. Now, orally challenged patients can go from problematic dentures to a fully fixed set of permanent teeth in just one day!

Most people who undergo this procedure tell us that the results are life-changing.

The benefits of All-On-4

The advantages of All-On-4 dental implants with full arch rehabilitation are numerous.

  • Being able to eat whatever you like without restriction.
  • Not having to ever worry about denture slippage and the discomfort or embarrassment associated with it.
  • Being able to eat, smile and talk in public with complete confidence.

That’s how full-arch rehabilitation using the All-On-4 concept can help!

What does the treatment entail?

The beauty of All-On-4 is that it replaces troublesome dentures while giving you a new set of fixed teeth in just one session. Here’s how the process works:

  • Preparing the site for implants – Our dentist will remove your dentures and ensure the area is good to receive 4-6 strategically placed implants. This may involve extracting other decayed or damaged teeth where necessary.
  • The implants are then placed directly into the jawbone at strategic intervals along the arch during a short surgical process.
  • At the same time, you’ll be fitted with a temporary arch of teeth until the implants have fully stabilised in the jaw.
  • When the implants have stabilised (approximately 3 months), you’ll be called back to have your permanent teeth attached.

So, who is eligible for All-On-4 dental implant treatment?

We’re able to quickly assess the situation during a consultation, but essentially, if you have lost many teeth, have multiple decayed teeth, or are a long-term denture wearer, there’s a strong chance that you’ll be a good candidate.

The results are unmatched by any other form of replacement, which provides almost perfect bite functionality with unrivalled aesthetics.

Are you ready for a life-enhancing experience?

A great-looking smile can make a huge difference in confidence and self-esteem, and the All-On-4 fixed arch treatment can deliver exactly that.

Give yourself a confidence boost with a perfectly crafted set of permanent teeth, and let us work together to achieve the fully-functioning smile you deserve. Get in touch today!

FAQs

Will my new teeth be as strong as natural teeth?

You will need to be a little careful until the implants have fully stabilised in the jaw, but once you receive your permanent teeth, they won’t be far off the strength of healthy natural teeth.

Is the process painful?

The All-On-4 procedure is comfortable. You’ll be under either a local anaesthetic or conscious sedation, so you will be awake, but you shouldn’t feel any discomfort whatsoever.

You may feel some discomfort after the surgery. This is normal and can be managed using conventional over-the-counter pain medications like ibuprofen or paracetamol. Any discomfort or swelling should disappear within 7-10 days.

How long does the process take from start to finish?

It all depends upon how quickly osseointegration (bone-to-implant fusion) takes, but as a general rule of thumb, most people receive their permanent set of teeth within 12 weeks. But don’t forget, you will walk out with a new set of (temporary) fixed teeth that same day.

Is the All-On-4 process affordable?

As with all dental implant procedures, All-On-4 doesn’t come cheap, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t affordable. At Fen House Dental in Spalding, for example, we provide flexible payment plans for treatments like dental implants, so the initial outlay won’t seem so hard. Don’t forget to ask us about your payment options at the time of your initial consultation.
